Investment Highlights

An extraordinary project

Greenwich Peninsula is one of Europe’s largest single regeneration projects. Comprising multiple neighbourhoods bordered by the River Thames, this is the flagship project of Knight Dragon Developments – an award-winning London-based real estate developer backed by Dr Henry Cheng, Chairman of New World Developments.

Among the urban developments the Knight Dragon team has already completed are sites in Hong Kong, Malaysia and the USA. Perhaps most impressive in its portfolio, however, is The Knightsbridge. This ambitious London residence set out to provide private homes with the facilities and levels of service of a 5-star hotel. The project combined beautifully designed homes with landscaped gardens, valet parking and an all-inclusive personal health and fitness facility. It was awarded Residential Development of the Year in 2006 and established a new standard for developers all over the globe.

Now, with Greenwich Peninsula, the team is once again striving to set new precedents. Through its multiple, vibrant and innovative neighbourhoods it aims to build a new community and shape the future of London.

Why choose Greenwich?

When you fly to the UK and adjust your watch to GMT, or Greenwich Mean Time, you are using the time set by the Royal Greenwich Observatory – a building of great historical significance that tourists still flock to today.

Along with the observatory is the Old Royal Naval College, a World Heritage Site and building of great beauty, and the Cutty Sark – one of the world’s most famous Victorian sailing ships, now carefully preserved as a museum and suspended impressively above ground.

Beyond its tourist attractions and maritime history, though, Greenwich is a thriving, modern region of London. The award-winning University of Greenwich boasts two Nobel laureates amongst its alumni. And the 183 acre Greenwich Park is a Royal Park of London, along with Hyde Park and Regent’s Park.  Greenwich Theatre is one of London’s foremost Off-West End theatres and Greenwich Market, established in 1737, now offers an extraordinary experience, combining antiques, exquisite, hand-crafted jewellery, art and street food from around the world.

Greenwich’s iconic O2 Arena, formerly known as the Millennium Dome, is the second-largest arena in the UK. Known for playing host to the world’s biggest pop stars, the building itself is also impressive, with its instantly recognisable, unique white dome structure.

Seven Neighbourhoods

03

The peninsula itself, that area of Greenwich projecting out into the River Thames, is the site of Greenwich’s new development and a source of great international excitement. The £8.4 billion investment consists of 150 acres, which is double the size of London’s Soho.

When the project is complete, there will be seven neighbourhoods with a diverse community of around 34,000 new settlers. Along with the 15,720 places to live, there will be two new schools and 13,000 job opportunities. And with the 48 acres of public and green space there will be a 5km riverside running track.

Conceived of by developers Knight Dragon as a new London, the seven neighbourhoods are:

  • Peninsula Central

  • Design District

  • Upper Riverside

  • Lower Riverside

  • Parkside

  • Meridian Quays

  • Brickfields

With various travel options to choose from, including the Emirates Cable Car and Thames Clipper boat service, residents can reach London City Airport in just 17 minutes and Westminster in 13 minutes. Canary Wharf, the secondary central business district of London is just 2 minutes away.

Offering a range of one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments, Greenwich Peninsula is one of our most popular choices for investors and those looking for a pied-a-terre or a new start in London.
